Disappointed 1st Time Owner
By Nyanderthal | on Sunday, October 13, 2019
Driver seat and passenger seat squeak when driving over every bump in the road. (Unbelievably irritating.) Volvo is aware of mass issues but no recall fix planned. Small gas tank; short range. Multiple failures with sensors and computer systems. Technology package was released prematurely. Released with known bugs to sell features that don't work. New updates are needed almost monthly, but don't have the ability to push remotely. Must bring vehicle into the shop for hours. 6 trips to dealership to address issues within the first year of ownership. Couldn't be more disappointed. I should have bought a Kia Telluride or Honda Pilot. Better quality, better warranty, lower price.… - 4.0
Overall a Wonderful SUV
By Carolina Volvo | on Wednesday, December 16, 2020
After looking at multiple "small" luxury crossover SUVs to replace my wife's sedan, we ultimately narrowed our search down to the Merecedes GLC and the Volvo XC60. The Volvo won out for its gorgeous interior and the fact that they're less common than the ubiquitous GLC. We initially fell in love with the R-Design trim but ultimately settled on Momentum, which is the entry-level or "base" trim - though its far from what you'd typically think of as a "base" trim level. Overall I'm very impressed with our first Volvo. The build quality and overall fit and finish is outstanding. Keeping to the Momentum trim also packs some serious value relative to other luxury vehicles. The 2.0 T5 engine is perfectly suitable for a vehicle of this size. While there is a slight amount of hesitation from a stop, once the turbo spools up the XC60 accelerates easily. Ultimately you aren't buying a Volvo for its speed. Better to look to BMW, Mercedes or Porsche for that. The few downsides this car has are more glaring if you're coming from an American SUV. The center storage console is laughably small. And I was really surprised about some features not being standard, even on a "base" trim level. One, our XC60 came without fog lights - seriously - though there's still a button to turn them on and the gauge cluster indicates that they're on. But I've looked at the bottom of the front bumper where the fog lights should be and there are just plastic covers on our XC60. I guess fog lights were an option for the 2019 model year. Nonetheless, the LED headlights are outstanding. Two, there's no remote start on the key fob, you have to use Volvo's app. Again, coming from American SUVs that can seem ridiculous. The key fob in general is peculiar. The buttons to lock and unlock, etc are very small on the SIDE of the fob instead of on its face, which I've never seen. But with passive entry on all four door handles and the liftgate, I rarely use the actual fob. Despite those two complaints, our XC60 has been rock solid reliable and feels very safe. The doors on the XC60 are no joke! When you close them they feel very substantial. All the safety features work as they should. The lack of physical buttons and reliance on the touchscreen takes a little getting used to but I like it. The design seems appropriate for the minimalist style Volvo was going for. The warranty is also great at 4 years, 50k miles and 3 years, 36k miles complimentary maintenance.… - 4.0
Top to bottom!
By Gman | on Thursday, October 08, 2020
Top to bottom this car has everything I have ever needed in a car. GPS, Heated Seats, BliS safety, Anti Collisions and all of the standard Volvo safety features. I drove the BMW X3 & Mercedes GLC 300 they were all very similar but the Volvo was a substantial savings utilizing the Costco Buying program. What surprised me is the ease of the "control system" radio, climate etc. What I would like have but didn't get is; A bit firmer ride A bit more acceleration in all modes I have no complaints and can recommend this car to anyone...my last car was a 2014 Volvo XC60 that I passed down to my 30 year old son.…
