The Twin Motor Performance configuration also has a 107-kWh battery and two motors, but they combine for 496 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque.1

You could, in theory, drive the plug-in hybrid model Volvo XC90 Recharge without charging the battery. The mild hybrid versions do not need to be externally charged. The Volvo EX90, on the other hand, must be charged in order to run.
The Volvo XC90 Recharge uses an 18.8-kWh battery pack to run its two motors, which assist the internal combustion engine. It takes between 5 and 8 hours to recharge a plug-in hybrid Volvo XC90. This can be done at a public charging station or at home with a normal 240-volt AC outlet. The Volvo EX90 can be charged via those same connections or with a DC fast charger.
