Exploring the Upcoming Volvo EX90 Electric SUV
Volvo Cars has been making huge strides in electrification, and the Volvo EX90 debuting in late 2024 is another big step in the process. This all-new vehicle seats up to seven, just like the Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC90 Recharge, and offers up to 67.6 cubic feet of cargo space, but rather than being a mild hybrid or a plug-in hybrid like the other two examples, it's all-electric. You won't have to worry about stopping for gas during your daily commute or when picking your kids up from school, and that's just the beginning of its great perks. Performance in a Volvo EX90 for Sale
The impressive Volvo EX90 specifications are set to outpace many members of its competition with its two available powertrains: the Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance options. Both operate with smooth AWD handling, charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes at DC fast-charging station,1 can tow up to 4,850 pounds when properly equipped, and offer speedy acceleration.
While both powertrains are quick off the jump, they do have some differences. The Standard Twin Motor option makes 402 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, going from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. Choose the Twin Motor Performance option for a boost in power – it makes 510 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque while making the same 0-60 sprint in just 4.7 seconds.
Although EPA testing is still underway, preliminary tests done by the brand returned a range of 308 miles on a single charge.2
A Look at the Volvo EX90 Interior
The Volvo EX90 is set to release with one of two trim levels available for the new model year: Plus and Ultra. The base entry Plus model will welcome you with a premium Bose® sound system, recycled Nordico upholstery, four-zone climate control, and a heated steering wheel. The Ultra trim level adds more sophistication with massaging front seats and an active air suspension system that enhances handling. All-season tires and 21-inch wheels also get added in the higher-tier trim.
Volvo EX90 Announcements
We'll kick things off with this SUV's price. According to the official Volvo website, the fully electric Volvo EX90 will have a starting MSRP of $79,995.3 This isn't too far off from the Volvo XC90 – given the vehicle's impressive capabilities and innovative features, plus the automaker's reputation for opulence, we think it's going to be worth every penny.
The brand announced that several features, such as Apple CarPlay® and bi-directional charging, will be added as updates after initial deliveries begin. Additionally, 2025 models will not receive vehicle-to-vehicle or vehicle-to-load bi-directional charging capabilities, which will only be available for 2026 models. 2025 iterations, however, will still receive an update for vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid bi-directional charging. Reservation holders who prefer to wait for delayed features are welcome to do so. Talk to us, and we'll simply hold your customization information until Volvo Cars announces their release.
Pre-order customers who can't wait to get behind the wheel of a Volvo vehicle and choose to purchase a different model instead may be eligible for a loyalty bonus. The non-transferrable perk – $2,500 for all-electric models or $1,500 for plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles – is valid for the purchase of a different Volvo vehicle through January 2, 2025.
If you're in the market for an efficient vehicle now, the Volvo XC90 Recharge is a great option – especially if you qualify for the pre-order loyalty bonus. Check out our Volvo EX90 vs. Volvo XC90 for more details.
